Episcopal Church of Liberia
Over the years we have developed a special relationship with Rev. Fr. Michael Sie of the Episcopal Church of Liberia. Father Michael visits us as often as he can and always leads an inspired, spirit-filled service.
In the summer of 2016 we sent him home with an organ for his church, as well as prayer books, choir and chorister vestments, and other altar guild items. At that time, Michael was leading St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Barnardsville, Liberia.
Mother Teresa Orphanage in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Good Shepherd Church has been sending donations of school supplies and more to Thomas Edmonds in support of the Sisters of Mother Teresa Orphanage in Kabul. Thomas is a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General, stationed in Germany but recently deployed to Afghanistan, where he saw the need to assist the sisters in their good work. Operation Christmas Child
From 2015 to 2019 we collected and donated items for OCC and worked with young families in the community to create a spirit of community infused by the joy of giving. Our hope is to continue to grow this project to send more Christmas boxes while inviting more of our neighbors to join in.
For 2019, we collected 11 wonderful boxes that were shipped to Uganda on Saturday, December 14.
